My Story
Hi there! I’m Shannon, a photographer based in Troon, Scotland. Originally from a small dairy farm in Michigan, I grew up surrounded by wide-open spaces and a love for storytelling. From a young age, I was setting up photoshoots with my little sister and finding any excuse to capture the world through my lens.
Life has taken me on some incredible adventures, including moving across the world with my husband, MacKenzie, and now experiencing the joy (and chaos!) of parenthood with our one-year-old, Forest.
I hold a degree in Photojournalism from Central Michigan University and have worked as a photographer for various newspapers and a National Park.
My passion lies in capturing genuine, unscripted moments—the quiet in-between glances, the laughter, the fleeting expressions that tell a story. I specialize in documentary-style photography, focusing on lifestyle, family, and everyday life. While I love the candid, storytelling approach, I also regularly capture traditional family sessions, ensuring a mix of timeless, beautifully posed portraits alongside those natural, heartfelt moments.
When I’m not behind the camera, you can find me exploring new places, planning our next holiday, entertaining my daughter, walking our border collie, Thistle, or unwinding in a cozy coffee shop. My photo editing background noise of choice is cringe reality tv shows and drink of choice is an iced coffee, no matter the season!
